Had I known what I know now, I would have never taken a job at Massage envy. Plain and simple it is extortion.

For the amount of work we do, we get payed ***. The lead therapist thinks and acts as though she is a doctor. Big NO NO in this profession. I'm surprized she hasn't been called on it yet.

Not to mention all the favoratism and competitiveness. We are all great therapists and should not be singled out. Management asks that you go to them with issues and does not help to resolve them.

It is all about the money that they make and NOTHING ELSE!!!! I'm glad I left!

100%%% I worked for massage envy for a short time, by far the worst place Iโ€™ve ever worked! They over work the front desk employees and make it very clear they are not cared about. Management plays favorites, are disrespectful and unprofessional!

I was employed there for 4 months, during those short months, the location had gone through 6 therapists and 14 Sales associates. I apparently violated company policy by telling a member he could cancel if he lived more that 25 miles from a ME.

He cancelled and I was fired the next day. WHAT ***!

Yeah I have to agree that I certainly would not recommend anyone work at Massage envy...its a pitiful job. I was hired as a sales associate and was fired soon after and for no good reason either!

The manager told me that they go through alot of sales associates and now I can see why that is! Do not waste your time working there please!

Also Massage Therapists the pay is definitely way too low for the amount of work you do giving massage! Run!

@Shimmer...so the only way to have dignity as a therapist is to work for yourself or a spa? Ha!

I would like to say, first of all, that ME is a franchise and individually owned, so people should only respond about their individual experiences. Me boss respects me and listens to me, as well she should.

As for pay... I want to point out that ME charges $39 per hour massage. Yes, the therapist does not receive pay comparable to a spa.. but the company is NOT CHARGING SPA PRICES.

I dont' know why therapists think owners are raking in $$$$. The upside is that therapists have consistetn business.

I have been with ME for 3 years I consistently do 25 massages per week with no SLOW SEASON like the spas. And so I am able to make a good living and budget my expenses accordingly.

Yes, I totally agree: Massage Walmart (envy) totally Sucks and is a horrible place to work at for all the reasons already listed. Also, I counted at least 20+ Red Flags while I worked there.

For one, at the Massage envy in OKC, OK the owner was accused of sexual harassment by a female massage therapist.

Also, a few other female LMT's told me that he was inappropriate with them as well.

All professional massage therapists with at least 1 year experience have no business working at Massage Walmart. If they have dignity they work for themselves or/and work at a more respectable massage therapy establishment.

What did the massage therapists make per hour at massage envy?

I responded to a craigslist ad in which my local Massage Envy stated the pay for a CSR position (front desk) was $11-$15 an hour. I apply, get called for an interview and arrive to find about 30 others there for the same thing.

A GROUP INTERVIEW. The entire thing took 3 hours with the manager throwing out interview questions and people talking over each other. Many got up and left in disgust. At the end of the interview, it was revealed the pay is actually $8 and you earn commissions selling massage packages.

I was told they were interested in me but wanted me to come in and sit behind the counter for an hour and watch the employees to get a feel for the job.

I asked one of the employee if she was making $11-$15 an hour and she laughed in my face and told me the reason there was a position opening was because she was getting the *** outta there and finding a real job. Needless to say, I declined the position.
