Massage Envy did not honor gift card
2 comments
I received a gift card for Christmas for massage envy. I was looking forward to it and decided to save it for a few months since I had just had a massage a month or so previously.
There is no expiration date on it and when I went to use it, they said it expired after 6 months.
When I told them there is no expiration date on the card and they should honor it, I was told that the person who gave it to me had cancelled their membership, so it cancelled all gift massages they had given. Even though the massage was prepaid, I guess they think they can keep the money but not provide the service.

Gift cards never expire. If someone transfers a prepaid massage to you thats a different story.
If they cancel there membership there member massages expire 30 days after there last payment which is explained to the member when filling out the cancel form that they sign and recieve a copy of . when you join a gym and pay but do not go there is no way to get that time back.
Massage envy actually is doing you a favor since they allow unused massages roll over and be gifted to other people.... Its not the clinics fault that whoever gifted you that service failed to tell you how it worked.
If you live in the state of Indiana they have to honor that gift card regardless. If you don't live in IN, check with your state law regarding gift cards.
